VI DOAN
Alcohol and Drug Counselor Intern, Mental Health Practitioner, Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Professional (C-DBT)
Vi is passionate about working with diverse populations, particularly focusing on those with intersectional identities who often find themselves marginalized. She understands the importance of integrating cultural sensitivity and humility into her therapy practice. Vi acknowledges and values the unique experiences and perspectives that individuals bring from their cultural backgrounds. By incorporating culturally competent practices, she creates a safe and inclusive space that honors and validates their identities. This involves being open-minded, respectful, and willing to learn from individuals whose cultures differ from her own. By actively listening, seeking knowledge, and collaborating with clients, she creates a more inclusive and culturally sensitive therapeutic environment that is a safe space for all.
She has experience working in hospitals, in-home, and other clinical settings. She is particularly equipped to support teens and adults experiencing grief and loss of a loved one or pet, depression, anxiety, addiction, and overall life stressors.
Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering at food shelves, make ceramic bowls (Empty Bowls Program) and assemble dressers with the Bridging program.
