MA, LADC (she/her) Pre-licensed Mental Health Practitioner
Therapist for Addiction, Anger, Personality Patterns & Relational Healing
You deserve relationships that feel safe, connected, and grounded—and a life that feels true to who you are. I’m Joy, a licensed therapist and addiction counselor who specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating the effects of trauma, addiction, chronic anger, personality disorders, and emotionally immature or neglectful caregivers.
Many of the people I work with grew up in families where emotional needs were dismissed or denied, and as adults they now carry the weight of hyper-independence, emotional reactivity, people-pleasing, or self-doubt. Whether you’re wrestling with addiction, struggling to manage anger, or feeling stuck in patterns shaped by the past, my goal is to offer a space where healing and change are not only possible—but expected.
I use evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and systems-focused therapy for families and couples. I bring a direct, compassionate presence to our work together, helping you build emotional insight, strengthen your boundaries, and create healthier relationships—with yourself and others.
I am a strong ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and provide affirming, inclusive care to clients of all identities, orientations, and relationship structures. My practice is a safe space where you are welcomed exactly as you are.
My clients appreciate that I’m real, honest, and not afraid to go deep. Therapy with me is an active process: we explore patterns, process pain, and practice new tools that create lasting change.
