Addictions, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression for Adults
Cheyne (she/her) first entered the helping field nearly seven years ago with one purpose in mind, help others navigate the complexities of life to find their inner peace. Drawing from her education in women and gender studies as well as clinical counseling/addiction studies, she believes there are many intersections to everyone’s unique story/stories. Cheyne has a history of working with a diverse set of clients such as those diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses (SPMI), those who have experienced long-term incarceration, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those who are seeking to change their patterns of addiction both in in-home settings and most recently through intensive outpatient programs. Cheyne functions from an inclusive/non-judgemental, empathetic, sometimes silly, and compassionate approach. She also encourages actionable change and pursuing the, at times, uncomfortable challenges that therapy can entail. But do not fret! Cheyne will consistently be there through your journey of healing to guide you towards the change you would like within yourself.
Cheyne’s clinical orientation is based in a strengths-based approach to therapy that honors your lived experience and the wisdom you carry. Rooted in a your unique strengths, her work integrates parts work (such as Internal Family Systems techniques), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a deep awareness of the connection between the body and mind. Cheyne supports adults of all ages—including older adults and the elderly—through life transitions/challenges, anxiety, depression, substance use, and navigating the lasting impact of trauma. Together, Cheyne will work with you to create a safe, collaborative space where all parts of you are welcome, and healing unfolds at your pace (with gentle nudging as needed). Cheyne’s goal is to help you reconnect with your inner resources and strengths, access inner clarity, and move toward a greater sense of ease and wholeness, however this looks for you.
Outside of the work Cheyne is passionate about you can find her crocheting, painting, playing with her four fur babies, and foraging out in nature.
